Call Me Lampros.

Hello, and welcome to my nice little corner of the Web. I don’t know if it’s web 1, web 2, or web 3, but then again, after a while, one looks pretty much like the others… okay, that’s not true. I remember the days of Mosaic and Netscape Navigator, as well as the abominations that were scrollable frames, and I’m glad we moved past that.

My name is Lampros Liontos, and with this “blog” (I still think of them by their full name, “web logs”), I am hoping to share what I can. Admittedly, I don’t think I’ll be making this whole blog specific to a topic, because I can’t really force my mind to remain on topic for very long, but I should be able to manage this for long enough for each message.

I was born in 1975, so I qualify for “Generation X.” Neither millennial nor boomer, I end up watching from the sidelines as the drama unfolds, completely confused as to what the whole thing is about. I hail from Ohio, although I spent some time in Arizona… enough to decide I really don’t like always-sunny-weather. Variety is the spice of life, and all that.

I have spent my life learning all kinds of things. I’ve focused most of my life on computer craft, whether it’s building, administrating, or using computers. I’ve done programming, artwork, writing, administration, network design, and advocacy. My main preference is Linux, and I daily-drive that exclusively (when I’m not required by my employer to use Windows, at any rate). I’ve also studied (and gained a degree in) information technology and media broadcasting, so I am quite familiar with the techniques and technology of these crafts. And I’ve also put in a more philosophical spin in a lot of my considerations, which can sometimes really disturb me when I make connections from unlikely things.

My hobbies are pretty varied; between my technical, artistic, literary, and philosophical shtick, there’s no telling what my next hobby will be. Like Mr. Toad, I will jump between interests as they appear in my vision.

I think I’ve bored you enough with all the self-gazing, perhaps we’ll just leave it at that. If you’re still here, thanks for at least letting me ramble.
